Old Androids Never Die, They Just Have A Few Screws Loose

My Sister

July 12, 2015

I've been back and forth from Hershey hospital this week.

my little sister slipped and fell at the Walmart in Reading, and struck her head hard enough to fracture her skull. She was bleeding internally and the bruising was very bad.

Last Saturday at 1AM I visited her in the hospital. She was able to speak in short phrases but was otherwise immobile. When I held her hand and said hello, she knew it was me and said my name.

As the week went on the pressure in her head started to rise, so she's had surgery to remove sections of her skull so that her brain would not get damaged when it swelled up from the injury, and she's currently on a ventilator to assist with her breathing.

I saw her yesterday, and though she could not speak, she had her eyes open, was looking at me and my mom, and squeezed my hand. I'm glad she's making some progress but there is a very long way to go.

Please keep her in your thoughts. I'm not one to believe in prayer, but if you wish to pray for her, the thought is appreciated.
